CalPoets and poet-teacher Claire Blotter were awarded an Artist Power Convening Grant to meet and collaborate on lesson plans with the then new Sonoma and Marin teaching poets. In the first creative “convening,” Poet-Teachers presented their original poems around which they developed culturally responsive lessons. Seven months later, they met again to share lesson outcomes, student poems and more ideas to help students creatively express their feelings in a post-pandemic world.
