Ella Wen served as the Sonoma County Youth Poet Laureate (YPL) during the 2021-22 year. California Poets in the Schools manages this program. Urban Word, in partnership with the California Arts Council, announced the finalists for the first-ever CA Youth Poet Laureate last Sunday and Ella Wen is among the finalists!
They had a record number of submissions, more than any state in the country, and this year’s finalists are:
