About the event
As tax season approaches, attorney Bryan Hawkins of Stoel Rives will discuss pros and cons of different entity selections options (sole proprietor, LLC, etc) for independent contractors in California.
Sole proprieter, LLC, SMLLC, schedule C ... what do these terms actually mean and what are the benefits, as an independent contractor, of selecting one over another? At this network lunchtime meeting, CalPoets invites a labor and employment lawyer on to speak about the pros and cons of each, as it relates to your taxes and beyond. There will be time for questions. This event is geared towards CalPoets' Poet-Teachers and our network of California poets. It is, however, open to the public. All are welcome.
