About the event

An election will happen soon.  In the spirit of resilient community, let's gather afterwards.

At this roundtable event, we'll discuss the election, the importance of poetry instruction in this time, and how we can help to address the many layers of crisis facing our students and schools.  All CalPoets' Poet-Teachers are welcome to attend.

Schools and teachers are adapting to online learning.  When kids will go back to school is uncertain.  We know that poetry instruction is important, but how do we make it work for schools, given so much uncertainty?  How do we pivot our offerings to meet the moment?

This will be an informal, roundtable discussion moderated by Meg Hamill - Executive Director of California Poets in the Schools. All Poet-Teachers are welcome to attend and share ideas, ask questions or simply listen.  We will learn from each other.  This is an informal brainstorming session and not an official training.
